Question 1: What motivates you to attend Kodi Connect events?
I attend Kodi Connect events to build new professional connections and discover vendors and technologies I may not otherwise encounter. These events offer a valuable opportunity to meet vendors, discuss their products, and learn more about their offerings.
Question 2: What was your reason for joining the Kodi Connect Advisory Board?
I joined the Kodi Connect Advisory Board to contribute the broad perspective I’ve gained through more than 30 years of experience across many areas of IT. In my current role as Director of Vendor Risk, I work closely with the security team, although I do not report directly to Security. I believe this combination of extensive IT experience and a current focus on vendor risk allows me to bring a well-rounded perspective to Kodi Connect.
Question 3: How do you decide when to adopt a new technology versus waiting for it to mature?
I base the decision on the level of risk involved. If a new technology handles or interacts with sensitive data, I may prefer to wait until it has a proven track record. When there are potential risks to the business or its reputation, a carefully controlled proof of concept (POC) or trial can help assess the technology’s benefits and risks before committing to broader adoption.
Question 4: If you could define the next big shift in tech, what would it be?
I believe the next major shift in technology could come from the convergence of quantum computing and artificial intelligence. Together, they could open new possibilities across wearable technology, the Internet of Things (IoT), and cybersecurity. Realizing that potential will require strong guardrails to protect data integrity. I see parallels with the early days of the internet and e-commerce: the full impact may take time to emerge, but the combination could fundamentally reshape how we use technology and conduct business.
Question 5: How do you disconnect and recharge outside of work?
Outside of work, my favorite way to recharge is spending time with my wife and our two dogs. Cooking is a real passion of mine, and being in the kitchen with great music playing is one of my favorite ways to unwind. I also love traveling and exploring new places and cultures—it’s a chance to step away from my routine and come back with a fresh perspective.
